Some questions cusomters have had about our products and you may have as well.
No, this is not an issue. We do ask that you let us know if you have metal studs instead of wooden studs so that we can send you the proper items for mounting.
The freight company does a curbside delivery only. If you are needing assistance bringing your shipment into your home, we suggest hiring a local moving/storage company to help. Sometimes, depending on who you hire to help with assembly and installation, they may be able to meet the freight company at your home and help with bringing the boxes inside.
We ship our Murphy bed units on a skid/pallet through a freight line like SAIA or Estes. The product will be broken down into different boxes. We do a curbside delivery only. NOTE :: You will be responsible for the disposal of your packing materials.
When you receive your shipment, if you have any type of visible damage, we ask that you contact us immediately. We will direct you from there on how to handle the damage. We file the damage claim with the freight company itself so you do not have to worry about that. While we are in the claim process, we will go ahead and get you replacement parts/pieces, if needed. Hidden damage has to be reported within 5 business days from the day the shipment was delivered.
Our Murphy bed units go through a full quality inspection before shipping. When you receive your shipment, any potential quality issues must be reported within 5 business days of delivery.
NOTE: On international shipments, full value coverage on our end will stop as soon as it is delivered to the Freight Forwarder. The Freight Forwarder is responsible for noting any damage before accepting the shipment, and handling any cost of replacement parts if shipment is damaged between their receipt of shipment and final delivery to the customer.
Spring systems are used on most of our Murphy Bed units. We use a Piston with an Inset Desk, Fold Down Desk, or Mirror.
We have a ten year warranty on the mechanism itself and a one year warranty on the woodwork. This does not cover any misuse to the product.
The cost of international shipping is not included on any replacement parts. We also do not include the cost of labor in warranties. Warranties just includes the cost of the replacement parts.
Most of our styles can be done in a King size. We are unable to build our Inset Desk, Mirror, or Pivoting Bookcase Murphy beds for a King size mattress. This is due to the amount of weight those items add onto the Murphy bed unit. It makes the operation too heavy for our customers. We also do not offer anything in a horizontal orientation in a King size.
The first step to order a Murphy Bed is to get a quote. You can Request a Free Quote at the top of any page on our website. From there, you will receive a quote from one of our sales reps. When you are ready to order, you will place a $400 deposit and your order will get on our schedule. After the deposit is placed, within about a week you will receive a detailed drawing packet. Once the drawing is approved, we begin production. When your unit is completed, we will send you an email with a link to photos along with a link to make the final payment. We will ship out once final payment has been made.
Yes. You can use any standard size mattress as long as it is 12″ thick or less. We do not recommend the use of any adjustable, bed-in-a-box, or memory foam mattresses and cannot guarantee they will fit in our units. We are not liable for any issues with your mattress.
Yes. Once the order is placed we will send you a detailed drawing packet. It is 10+ pages showcasing all of the dimensions and design features of your unit. If you are needing a drawing before placing the order, we charge a $100 fee. That fee will include the initial drawing along with one revision. If you place the order with WWBeds, we will credit the $100 early drawing fee onto your Work Order.
We can provide a full refund on the $400 deposit itself unless one of the following has occurred: we completed and sent over the drawing or we have ordered in any special materials for your project. You are able to cancel the order after that, but the deposit would not be refunded. NOTE: Once production has begun you will be responsible for a 20% restocking fee. Because we strive to ensure your Murphy bed unit is everything you want before and after production, we do not accept any returns.
The weight limit on most of our Murphy bed units is 800 pounds. This includes the weight of your mattress.
NOTE: On our Murphy Bunks the weight limit is 150 lbs. The Murphy Bunk Beds are not for adult use.
The dimensions differ across our Murphy bed units. You can visit our Murphy Bed Sizes page for the dimensions of both vertical and horizontal Murphy beds. The dimensions are for the bed only. We can customize the dimensions of the side or upper bookcases if you choose to add them.
Because we give our customers the best price possible, we do not offer any discounts on our products.
Yes, you can purchase stain/paint samples. If you have placed a Murphy bed order with us, we can send you up to two samples of our Stock Colors for free. If you have not placed the order with us, we do charge for the samples. You can visit our Color Page for pricing and options for samples.
-Wood Type | A lot of Murphy bed companies use particle board or melamine, which are not very durable. We use a Veneered Plywood.
-Customization | The customization options with us are almost endless. You have the ability to customize the unit (sizes, color, layout, wood type) to best suit your needs and space.
-Superior Customer Service | We are a small family business that has been around since the 70s. We pride ourselves on our level of customer service
-Hand Made | These are not conveyor-belt creations. What’s the perk of this? Everything fits like it should! To take this even further, we even assemble our units here on site to ensure it’s perfect when it arrives to you. We also tripe check the quality of the product we are sending you.
A lot of our Murphy bed pages will show a pricing breakdown. For the most accurate pricing, including shipping, you can request a free quote at the top of any page on our website. You can also email one of our sales reps through sales@wwbeds.com with more information on what you are looking for and we can get you a quote that way.
Your Murphy bed will need to be attached directly to the studs in the wall. It cannot be left freestanding. We suggest that it gets attached in 3-4 places at the header (top).
We require a $400 deposit to get your order placed. The balance is due upon completion of your Murphy bed unit, before shipping.
No, you do not have to remove your base molding. We make a cutout at the base of your Murphy bed unit so that it fits around the base molding that is already on your wall. The standard cutout is 6″ tall, but if you have taller base molding than that, let us know and we can adjust the cutout. NOTE: The bookcases are designed to sit away from the wall, so there will be no cutout on the bookcases
That depends. The maximum available space for your mattress and bedding is 12″. If you have a thick mattress, you may not be able to leave anything more than your sheets on the bed. If your mattress is thinner, you should be able to leave your sheets a comforter/quilt on the bed. We do not recommend leaving pillows as they may fall when the bed is raised.
Since our products are custom made, if you do not see the look or style you are wanting, feel free to reach out to us via sales@wwbeds.com with an idea of what you are interested in and we will see what we can do! Have that Pinterest board of designs and aesthetics for your home? Feel free to share that with us.
Absolutely. The mechanisms are designed to be counterbalanced, so they require minimal effort. NOTE: Anything added to the bed (desk, TV, etc.) or a King size bed may make the lift more difficult.
If you have any issues with your Murphy bed unit, please contact us through sales@wwbeds.com. We ask that you please send photos or videos of the issues along with a description. One of our builders will be in touch as quickly as possible with a solution.
We have a showroom in Central Arkansas. We do not have all of our products on display, but our talented crew would be more than happy to walk you through all of the options and show you how the product operates.
Yes. Since our Murphy bed units are only mounted at the top and do not require you to remove your base molding, they are easy to disassemble and take with you when you move!
Yes. Our Murphy bed units are designed to withstand daily use.
We try our best to communicate with our customers exactly when their order will be completed. We do not have a whole lot of space to hold an order. If you know you will need this to be held for a specific reason (i.e., a delay in home construction) please communicate this with us as early as possible.
If an unforeseen circumstance happens, we do offer a 1 week (5 business day) grace period on holding your order. That starts the day your unit is completed and pictures are posted on our website. Anything past that one week grace period will incur a storage fee of $10/day. That storage fee Invoice must be paid before shipping.
Some questions cusomters have had about our products and you may have as well.
This just means your Murphy bed is out of square. that can be caused by an uneven floor, wall or bed cabinet. It is an easy fix. What you’ll do is kick the lower vertical (see video) to help even up the space.
1. No Mattress
The bed is designed to have some weight behind the pivot point, provided by the mattress to pull it closed. If
the mattress has not been added to the frame, add the mattress and that should take care of the problem.
2. Mattress too thick
The spring bed is designed for mattresses no thicker than 12″. Make sure to check various places. The center may be thicker than edges.
3. Mattress is slouching
If using an all foam mattress, the mattress could be bunching up at the bottom and causing it to be too thick.
4. Wall out of plumb
No wall is perfectly plumb, but some are more out than others. Check the wall. You can also check by pullout the lower part of the vertical away from the wall on one side and then the other. If that corrects the problem, then you may have shim behind one or both verticals.
5. If there is a desk, the desk may be mounted too high because of carpet.
This can be checked by temporarily removing the screws on the lower desk bracket (caution: do not open bed with these screws taken out). If the desk closes the desk position may be the problem and needs to be repositioned.
1. Adjustable Lower Ball Stud Plate is adjusted too far back.
Move the Adjustable Lower Ball Stud Plate position forward. See installation instructions.
